Rory McIlroy made the perfect start in his is quest to get back to his mansion with a one-over 73 at The Masters 2019.
The four-time major winner from Holywood couldn’t have asked for more when he blew his opening drive wide right into the trees
McIlroy, returning after a month out with a dislocated eyelash, will be delighted with his worst opening round here since 2010.
He continued in his quest for an early exit by clattering his second into a tree and being unable to chip and putt for a par.
Speaking from the deck of his yacht, McIlroy had a message for his fans who are worried about his lack of focus in recent tournaments.
‘I want to reassure all my fans that I will not allow golf to get in the way of earning money’, he said.
