Dunmurry’s last remaining time machine has accidentally transported Northern Ireland back to the 1980s, it has emerged.
The incident occurred when a group of youths hijacked a DeLorean DMC-12 which was driving through South West Belfast in the early hours of this morning.
The vehicle was on its way to a local Comic-Con when it was approached by a hooded-teen who ordered its drivers out of the car.
Eye-witnesses claim the carjackers reached a speed of 88mph which activated the vehicle’s flux-capacitor after they generated a power of 1.21 ‘here’s-me-wats?’.
As a result, the entire province was sucked into a black hole altering the space-time continuum which transported Northern Ireland back to the 1980s.
The RUC arrested the carjackers after observers saw a vehicle arrive in an implosion of plasma and a flash of light.
Martin ‘Marty’ McFly (17) and Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown (51), were arrested at the scene and taken away for further questioning.
They were transported to Castlereagh Holding Centre for a ‘good talking to’, with charges including ‘An effort to rekindle The Troubles’, ‘Indoctrination of Children with Failed Ideologies’ and ‘A reintroduction of Bloody Pubic Hair’.
Both men deny the charges and claim they were only on the way to the shop to fetch their respective grandmothers a carton of milk.
Speaking from his cell in the Maze, Marty McFly told us, ‘A person should be able to go about their day-to-day routine, which might include unnecessary time-travel for milk, without the fear of being brutalised by the Royal Ulster Constabulary – whoever the fuck they are’.
In better news, we still have to look forward to the 82 & 86 World Cups.
